"Waste valorization, microbial communities and circular economy: producing commodities and solving environmental problems"

In the frame of BENEFICCE-EUH2020 project, the purpose of this workshop is to discuss about new technologies for waste valorization in a multidisciplinary approach, and how microorganisms can help us developing those technologies in a more sustainable manner, solving at the same time, environmental problems such as plastic and oil pollution.

BENEFICCE project, funded by European Union-H2020 program and the Institut CARNOT ISIFOR aims to develop an eco-responsible process for the production of biosourced and biodegradable plastics using waste from local agricultural activities and microbial communities from the Adour river. The recovery of local waste and the use of microorganisms taken from regional environments will be the starting point for the development of a sustainable biorefinery and circular economy process for the production of biodegradable and biocompatible plastics.
